Love.

What is it? I cannot be so arrogant to propose that I've figured it out. So many philosophers and scholars have been musing over the topic from the beginning of time. However, thanks to my recent introversion, and the supported insight gained from the Lifted Hearts Community, I have reached a better understanding. I'd like to share that with all of you.

Thanks to poets and romanticized notions, love is a rather confusing topic. One observed fact remains to simplify the matter however. When a child is born, does not the mother look upon it with true love? How can that be? There is such a small fragile stranger in their hands, yet they love them so completely at that moment.

For years, I have been searching for that. I've been on a decade long quest, looking under every stone for love. When people would enter my life and choose to remain, I thought that I'd found it. Then, sometimes they'd choose to leave my life. So then I'd think that I didn't find it, or it had escaped me. Most people do the same thing and feel the same way. After all, were taught that love is "out there" and that we should "go find it".

A recent perceived "loss" of love, threw me into a torment of unimaginable grief. Well actually that is a lie, it is imaginable because I'm sure you're all familiar with what I'm saying. We're all human after all, and our emotions are the same.

I had to make a decision. I had to stop feeling the way I did. So I CHOSE to search within myself and find the patterns that led me to where I am today.

That was the one stone I'd never turned over before.

Love begins within us. You must first allow yourself to acknowledge your own humanity. You must allow yourself to recognize that you've made some mistakes in you're life. Realize that you've made ALL of you're own decisions, and that those decisions have brought you to where you are today. You have to be able to identify the things you like, and the things you don't. You have to pat you're own back for the good things, and make concrete decisions to change the bad.

When you can no longer "beat yourself up" and stop degrading yourself for the mistakes you've made, you can stop looking for OTHERS to pat you on the back.

You can stop relying on OTHERS to fill the perceived voids in you're life. You can stop expecting others to make you whole. After all, are those others not human? Do they not have their own voids? Do they not make mistakes?

That new mother gazing upon her new child must accept the fact that SHE is now a mom, a whole person who must now assist another new life to live. That mother in that moment, loves what and who SHE is, and therefore can love another.

Love is in the mirror. Love is knowing who YOU are. True love, is being whole. When you realize this, you can have a perfect supply to lend to others as you see fit. Love is giving FIRST to you, then to the world.

Love is the capacity to accept you're own humanity. Love is the ability to realize we're all living on the same rock together. Love is accepting that that humanity is shared by all. All the mistakes, all the good times, all the fears, all the pain, all the wars, all the losses, all the wonders experienced on a daily basis, have been a constant, from the beginning of time. We are just living our own moments, on this same rock, at the this time. Love is wanting to fill those moments in this wisp of our time with, well...LOVE; for our own lives, and the will to compliment others.

That's what I've been doing with my time lately. It's taken a few days to make it a tangible gift of love for all of you. Please enjoy, and pass it on, first to you, and then to whom you see fit.
