Ewwwww!!! You're just so angry! SO MAD THAT YOU COULD.....

As much as you want to clean the underside of the toilet bowl with his toothbrush, sprinkle pepper on the electric burners on her stove, or cut the crotch out of every one of his pairs of jeans... is not the greatest revenge in just walking away with your head held high, your dignity intact, and showing very little concern for anything regarding your ex? Is not there a better revenge in building a better life, in soaring and excelling in who you are, in racing ahead and leaving them to cough in your dust?

A little apathy on your part will make your ex feel like the relationship meant very little to you, and isn't that the best possible revenge?  (The opposite of love isn't hate. It's apathy. APATHY is the BEST revenge! It will drive the ex more nuts than hate. Hate is at least an emotion and requires effort and energy on your part. If you can get to where you truly don't care about your ex, that's the opposite of love, and they won't like it one bit!)

So the greatest revenge act you can do right now is to show little apathy for them. And what better first-aid on your part to help your heart mend. We all have strength, and courage, and compassion, and will, and dignity, and reasoning, and stamina, and determination. Sometimes we learn to become codependent and lean on others for these qualities, instead of developing our own, but believe me---nobody has a monopoly on strength, or self-will. Nobody has been more embellished with one virtue than the next. Nobody is stronger than you! EVERYTHING you need to create a lifetime of happiness is already inside you, you just need to trust that you are just as God intended, no better nor worse, no weaker nor stronger-- than the rest of mankind! Find your strength to move on...there are so many beautiful things waiting for you.

I truly wish I could take your pain away. Because, since I have been there, I know that the pain doesn't last forever and therefore I know I could withstand it. But right now, you can't ever see it getting better. You just feel so hollow and empty and ANGRY inside. I know that feeling! Right now you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. You have only visions of you two together. You probably think about him or her every waking second and he or she probably sneaks into your dreams, too. You might dream you two are together again and they are telling you they want to get back with you, or you may even dream that they are with another partner (and, usually the new partner is 'picture perfect', oh argh!)...either way you probably jump-start yourself awake with the most horrible of empty feelings. Honey, trust me when I say...IT DOES GET BETTER. Learn to embrace yourself, give yourself the biggest hug. God made our arms long enough so that we can hug ourselves...try it, you'll see that you can do it. If I were there I would support you every inch of the way, but please know I am with you in my heart, but that God is with you always.
